In 79 my mom had my hair cut for the first time. She said my sisters hair was so cute cut short she decided to have mine cut the same. I didn't look that good with short hair then (my hair is really fine compared to my sister's thicker hair) and certainly doesn't look good short now. I only cut my hair short one other time and it wasn't pretty. World events in 79: Iranian students stormed the US Embassy and hold 52 people hostage for 444 days. The sony walkman is introduced. Margaret Thatcher becomes British PM. Three mile island has a partial meltdown. Mother Teresa wins Nobel Peace Prize.
