New Sunday School Format

So I am going to try to start blogging again.  After almost a year break I decided maybe I should do it again since it is a form of journaling and even if no one reads them they are there for me to read and remember things.

My husband and I currently teach the 12-13 year olds in Sunday School.  This year the Church implemented a new teaching program for the youth called Come Follow Me.  Each month has a topic and then we have 4-5 questions to choose from to teach that week.  That question/topic has a nice little broad outline.  I was a little scared at first since I would have to do way more prep work.  I was also excited because I would have to do way more prep work.

One fear is that we wouldn't have enough meat in our lessons to cover the whole time.  But the last two weeks we had to end our lessons early because we had way too much stuff planned.

So my initial assessment of the new program is that I love it.  This morning during my scripture reading I finished reading the articles and scriptures to go with this weeks topic.  Then I also began planning out February's different topics.  I have learned and refreshed my memory of so much stuff on the Godhead this month.  Next month is the Plan of Salvation and I love that topic.  So excited.

I had heard that the lessons had changed but didn't know the details. This sounds really wonderful and like the kids get involved too. I like that idea. I think more often the teacher learns more than the receiver. Have fun teaching!
