We drove from Erlanger, Kentucky ,to Morton, Illinois. We actually drove through Ohio and Indiana along our way. It was a pretty uneventful day except when we were in Western Indiana our gas light came on. Unsure of how long we could drive with the gas light on and pulling a trailer we saught the help of our GPS for a gas station. Discovered there was one at the next exit. We pulled off the freeway. It told us to go left so we did and the gas station didn't exist. A little bit down the road there was a burned out one. I immediately put in the next one. We had to make a U turn. Not going to happen with a trailer so we start looking for a turn around or a road to go down and maybe make a square back. The GPS kept telling us to go down these little dirt roads. Soon we were in the middle of nowhere on a dirt road in a middle of a cornfield. I was praying the whole time. I really didn't want to have to be stranded out there. Finally we got into a small town and found a gas station we could pull into. We were less than a mile from the freeway and once we got to the freeway we realized if we had gone right instead of left (like the GPS told us too) than we would have gotten into that town. We had just made a big circle.
Playing with her tongue during one of our rest stops.
We left at 9 a.m. and arrived at the Baymont Inn. It was a fairly nice hotel. Smelled like smoke in the halls and lobby. It was older without an elevator but the rooms were updated and clean. They also had a nice breakfast in the morning.
We walked over to Steeak-n-Shake for dinner. Ray and I both love their milkshakes. The kids ate free that night so that was an added bonus.
When we got back to the room we got in our swimsuits and went down to the pool. We had it to ourselves. Thank goodness the pool was inside because it was raining outside. The kids enjoyed swimming on daddy's back.

Hate when the GPS leads you astray! Glad you didn't get stranded though!
